Our Pastor
Pastor Kevin Byers trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour when he was five years old. His father led him to Christ and the following Sunday, Pastor T. J. Smith baptized him at Friendship Baptist Church in Prossor, Washington.
Kevin surrendered to preach as a teenager and began studying for the ministry at an early age. He met and married his lovely wife Stacy, in May of 1997 and God has since blessed them with seven beautiful children.
Greater Portland Baptist Church ordained Pastor Byers into the gospel ministry in the spring of 2005. Pastor Rick Adams, Pastor Tim Shanks, and Pastor T.J. Smith served on that ordination committee.
Pastor
Along with his training for the ministry, Pastor Byers served five years in the United States Air Force and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He separated honorably from the military in 2005 and immediately began traveling across America preaching in churches and sharing his burden to serve the Lord in Germany.
Family
Kevin, Stacy, and their children left the United States in May 2009, and hope to officially charter God's Word Baptist Church in 2012.
